FM Qureshi meets Zalmay Khalilzad, discuss Afghan peace process

DOHA: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi met US Special Representative for Afghanistan Reconciliation Zalmay Khalilzad in Doha today (Saturday) on the sidelines of US-Taliban peace deal.
Zalmay Khalilzad apprised FM Qureshi of the latest situation regarding peace agreement between the United States and the Afghan Taliban.
On the occasion, FM Qureshi said that Pakistan hopes for intra-Afghan dialogue after today’s deal.
He underscored the importance of international community’s help for reconstruction and rehabilitation of Afghanistan.
FM Qureshi reiterated resolve to continue efforts for enduring peace and stability in Afghanistan.
He said that Afghanistan will be required assistance from the international community for reconciliation and rehabilitation.
The Foreign Minister said Pakistan will continue its efforts for durable peace and stability in Afghanistan.
