Flour prices have been increased across the city, with the new official rates issued through a notification. The revised prices show an increase in regular and fine flour categories, while the rate of chakki flour remains unchanged.
According to details, compared with the notification issued on May 12, all flour rates have been increased in the July 9 notification. Following the increase, the wholesale price of regular flour has been set at Rs. 122 per kilogram, up from Rs. 110 per kilogram.
According to the notification, the retail price of regular flour has been increased from Rs. 113 to Rs. 125 per kilogram, while the wholesale price of fine flour has been fixed at Rs. 132 per kilogram, up from Rs. 118 per kilogram.
The notification further says that the retail price of fine flour has been raised from Rs. 121 to Rs. 135 per kilogram, while the retail price of mill-ground (chakki) flour will remain unchanged at Rs. 145 per kilogram.
Karachi Commissioner said that all shopkeepers must display the official price list at a prominent location, and strict legal action will be taken against those who violate the government-approved rates.
