PESHAWAR: Five people, including two traffic officials, were injured in a blast near Rampura Gate business center Peshawar on Monday.
According to police sources, explosive material was tied to a pole which caused the explosion. Five people, including two traffic officials, sustained injuries i9n the blast, police said.
The injured were shifted to Lady Reading Hospital for treatment. Soon after the blast, law enforcement agencies reached the spot and cordoned off the area.
On March 9, at least seven people, including two Levies personnel, were injured near Taj Road of Chaman at 3:00 pm.
According to the police, unidentified terrorists allegedly targeted a vehicle of Levies personnel at Taj Road near the Levies Lines. The officials had said that the improvised explosive device (IED) was planted in a motorcycle parked on the roadside.
On February 22, At least five terrorists were killed during a joint intelligence-based operation of Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) and police in Khyber district.
According to police sources, the law enforcement agencies personnel had conducted an intelligence-based operation in the Raigi area of Peshawar.
Police said during the operation terrorist opened fire on the personnel, however, in retaliatory firing five terrorists were killed.
The killed terrorists were identified as Aziz Ullah, Niaz Ali, Adnan, and Jameel while the identity of fifth terrorists could be ascertained yet, police added. The security forces had recovered weapons, three suicide jackets and other huge quantities of ammunition during the operation.
