FIFA has announced the launch of a new football video game, FIFA World Cup: Launch Edition, which will be available exclusively on Netflix Games from June 11, coinciding with the start of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The game will be free for Netflix subscribers and is part of FIFA’s efforts to expand fan engagement through a revamped digital gaming strategy.
Developed in collaboration with Netflix Games and Delphi Interactive, the title offers an accessible football simulation experience centered on the World Cup.
Players can select any of the 48 national teams participating in the tournament and compete across all 16 official stadiums. The game features more than 1,200 players and supports multiplayer gameplay for up to four users.
FIFA said the game uses smartphones as controllers, allowing players to connect to a television by scanning a QR code, making it easy to play with friends and family.
The release marks another step in FIFA’s new gaming approach following the end of its long-standing partnership with EA Sports. Instead of relying on a single publisher, the organization is building a multi-partner ecosystem designed to reach broader audiences across different platforms.
