KARACHI: A Japanese company has proposed starting a ferry service from Do Darya in Clifton to Port Qasim in Karachi.
The proposal came under discussion in a meeting between Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and Yamaha Japan Senior General Manager for Central Asia and Middle East Yoshiyuki Ito.
The company also agreed to develop other water sports facilities at different barrages and lakes in the province.
The chief minister said there was a great scope to develop water sports facilities at Keenjhar, Guddu, Sukkur and Kotri Barrages.
He said that these facilities could be established in collaboration between Pakistan and the private sector.
The Japanese official that a ferry service could be established from Do Darya to Port Qasim for transport facilities and recreation.
He said that Yahama WaveRunners, technically known as Personal Watercraft (PWC) or water scooters, were the best sports.
