KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi Ameer Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman has said that the federal government had failed to fulfill its claims for resolving the issues of the country.
Talking to media after a meeting with Sindh Chief Minister in his office to discuss census and current issues of the city, he said, “No city in the world could make progress if its city government lacked resources.”
The JI chief said, “Former Karachi Nazim Niamatullah Khan had executed record development works in the city, adding that after him, the people of the metropolis were facing water, electricity, transport and sewerage problems.”
“Isn’t it an irony that a city that generates employment for the people of every district and town of the country is never owned by rulers,” said Hafiz Naeem.
“This city has always been deprived of its true leadership through rigging, violence and conspiracies. Now we are here to fight the case of this city,” he added.
Among several other demands, he strongly pleaded for a “true consensus of Karachi” saying the actual population of the metropolis was around 30 million.
Hafiz Naeem further said that Jamaat-e-Islami will not accept fake census, “Haq Do Karachi movement is moving forward. He said that if justice is not done then his party will struggle together with the people.
