ISLAMABAD: The ٖFederal Government is reported to have re-constituted the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) which is to carry out probe in assassination attempt on the life of former prime minister and Chairman Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan, which took place on November 3 in Wazirabad.

As per information available with MM News, the federal interior ministry has formed a new JIT after the objections of the lawyer of the accused Naveed along with the reports of differences and disputes arising out between JIT members and Punjab government.
The JIT has reportedly been formed after the approval of the federal cabinet, and the Ministry of Interior has also issued a notification in this regard.
According to the notification, the JIT will be convened by IG Railway Rao Sardar Ali Khan, while DIG Punjab Police Kamran Adil, and representatives of ISI, MI and IB will join the joint investigation team.
It may be recalled that just yesterday, the Punjab government had also reconstituted the Joint Investigation Team probing into the attack on former Prime Minister Imran Khan in Wazirabad.
The Punjab Home Department had replaced all the members over differences with the JIT chief, and had included DPO DG Khan Muhammad Akmal, SP Anjum Kamal, and DSP CIA Jhang Nasir Nawaz as new members.
