The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has demanded tax records from all private hospitals in Lahore.
According to FBR officials, the tax records of a well-known private hospital have been taken into custody.
Officials stated that the hospital management was concealing taxes and had not provided accurate data.
Authorities said the hospital’s actual annual tax liability amounts to Rs 550 million, but the management insists on paying only Rs 5.5 million per quarter.
The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) failed to achieve its tax collection target for the month of November.
According to FBR sources, tax collection in November amounted to Rs878 billion against the target of Rs1,034 billion, resulting in a shortfall of Rs156 billion.
Sources added that the shortfall may decrease by approximately Rs5 billion within a day. The tax collection target for December has been set at Rs1,406 billion.
