The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) is expected to collect over Rs 855 billion in November 2024, falling short of the target of Rs 1,003 billion, resulting in a Rs 148 billion shortfall.
According to senior FBR officials, provisional tax collection has reached Rs 851 billion for November 2024, compared to the target of Rs 1,003 billion, showing a shortfall of Rs 152 billion. However, this gap is expected to narrow to Rs 150 billion by the end of the review period.
As reported by Business Recorder on Sunday, the FBR anticipates an additional Rs 4-5 billion in revenue once the final figures are compiled and data is reconciled.
For the first five months of the 2024-25 fiscal year, the Federal Board of Revenue has collected Rs 4,295 billion, against the target of Rs 4,639 billion for the July-November period, indicating a shortfall of Rs 344 billion.
In an update, officials noted that the FBR collected Rs 851 billion in November 2024, up from Rs 736 billion in November 2023, reflecting a significant increase of Rs 115 billion.
