The 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) is underway in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, bringing together global representatives, urban experts, and policymakers from around the world.
Chairman of Chanesar Town Municipal Corporation, Farhan Ghani, and Chairman District Sanghar, Syed Riaz Hussain Shah, are also participating in the forum.
The theme of the World Urban Forum is “Housing for All: Safe and Sustainable Cities and Communities,” focusing on global housing challenges, affordable housing solutions, and sustainable urban development.

Speaking during the session, Chairman Chanesar Town Farhan Ghani highlighted issues related to the global housing crisis, low-cost housing, and the provision of urban facilities. Discussions at the forum also include modern infrastructure, sustainable urban growth, waste management, and digital transformation.
Representatives from various countries presented proposals for creating safe, environmentally friendly, and sustainable cities, while global experts discussed housing-related challenges linked to climate change.
Organized under the auspices of UN-Habitat, WUF13 features opening and closing ceremonies, assemblies, roundtable discussions, and policy dialogues. Special discussions are also being held on improving informal settlements, innovative housing finance models, and the role of women, youth, and civil society in urban development.
The World Urban Forum in Baku will continue until May 22.
