Fakhar Zaman is being treated for a knee injury as the Pakistan Cricket Board has confirmed that the opner has been ruled out of Pakistan’s upcoming World Cup clash against Australia in Bengaluru on October 20.
However, he is expected to be available for selection next week.
Meanwhile, Salman Ali Agha developed fever after Wednesday’s training session and is recovering from it.
All other players in the 15-member squad are doing well.
Six players from the squad missed their first training session on Tuesday due to fever that they had been battling in the days before the previously mentioned match. On Tuesday, Abdullah Shafique, Shaheen Afridi, Mohammad Rizwan, Salman Ali Agha, Mohammad Haris, and Zaman Khan were among the players who chose to take it easy.
Following a thorough examination conducted by Dr. Saleem, the medical officer of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), five of the aforementioned players were deemed fit to join the training session on Wednesday. Consequently, all the players from the Pakistan squad, with the exception of Mohammad Haris, who continued his recovery from fever, actively participated in the training.
