Fashion designer Fahad Hussayn has responded to the criticism of Maria B on Barzakh.
In his statement on social media, Hussayn said: “No one wants to correct her? why? Are we responsible for her mediocre career where she has to resort to creating this amount of hate content to run her business? Why are we not addressing minority hatred here instead of what someone filmed because obviously watching it is a choice? What happened to everyone’s priorities? Who gave her the authority to address the masses on matters beyond her understanding?
It is to be noted that Maria B, a well-known designer and activist, has raised concerns about the new series Barzakh. Directed by Asim Abbasi and starring Fawad Khan and Sanam Saeed, the show features mystical elements and queer themes. However, it has faced significant backlash.
Maria B in a video posted on her Instagram account, argues that Barzakh promotes vulgarity. She believes the series supports an LGBTQ agenda, normalizes pre-marital sex, and presents themes that might negatively influence children.
