Cami Clark, now the wife of Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei, exchanged emails with Jeffrey Epstein in 2011–2012, before she and Amodei were together.

Cami Clark, an entrepreneur in Silicon Valley, most widely known as the wife and unofficial shadow adviser of Dario Amodei, the CEO of the artificial intelligence safety lab Anthropic, has been in the news lately for her alleged connection with notorious sex-offender Jeffrey Epstein.

An investigative report in The Wall Street Journal claimed historical business ties between the two, revealing exchanged emails with Jeffrey Epstein in 2011–2012, before she and Amodei were together.

Clark and business partner Michelle Capocefalo were developing a women-focused adult-content company called Edice, which they pitched as “classy” or “luxury” pornography aimed at women.

According to the report, Clark was introduced to Epstein by literary agent John Brockman while she was raising money for the venture. She later directly approached Epstein about investing. Clark sent Epstein material for proposed films and maintained contact with him, including inviting him to a housewarming party.

Epstein ultimately declined to invest, writing that he “Can’t do Sex TV.” The article says there is no evidence that he ever invested in Clark’s businesses.

Who is Cami Clark?

Cami Clark, although holds no formal title or public role at Anthropic, she acts as a crucial sounding board for her husband as the multi-billion-dollar AI company navigates its rapid growth and potential IPO.

Cami Clark’s background is an unconventional mix of blue-collar roots, real estate, tech sales, and women-focused startups. Long before she became a powerful behind-the-scenes presence in artificial intelligence, her career twisted through multiple industries across the Silicon Valley ecosystem.

Before marrying Amodei in 2022, Clark dated former Google CEO Eric Schmidt, and he later invested in one of her ventures.

She met her husband, Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei, in 2014 while he was still a researcher, and the couple married in 2022.

As far as her Silicon Valley’s career goes, Clark entered mainstream Silicon Valley tech operations by joining Leap Motion, a buzzed-about startup developing hand-tracking and gesture-recognition hardware. She served as the company’s Head of Revenue until the company was sold to Ultraleap in 2019.

It is worth mentioning that at Leap Motion, she worked alongside OpenAI’s future leadership, including Mira Murati.
