Islamabad: The energy crisis continues in the country, electricity shortfall has reached 6,500 MW.
According to the details, the sources say that the total production of electricity is 22 thousand 435 MW while the total demand is 28 thousand 500 MW.
According to sources, 6,600 MW of electricity is being generated from water and 1,120 MW of government thermal plants are being generated.
Sources say that the total production of private sector power plants is 11,000 MW. The production from wind power plants is 1100 and solar plants are 170 MW. Bagasse-powered plants are generating 160 MW of electricity, while 2,285 MW of electricity is being generated from nuclear fuel.
According to the sources, due to the increase in power shortfall, 8-hour loadshedding is being done in major cities across the country, while the duration of loadshedding in high-loss areas is 10 to 12 hours.
