PESHAWAR: Eight people were killed and twelve others sustained injuries when a vehicle plunged into a ravine in Buner district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to police, the road accident occurred in Chalandri Chugharzai area of Buner, when they were returning after attending a marriage ceremony.
Two women and two children are also among the dead. The bodies and injured were shifted to DHQ Hospital Dagar and RHC Dewana Baba.
Earlier today, at least five persons were killed and several others were injured when a passenger bus plunged into a ravine near Akbarpura village of Nowshera district.
According to rescue sources, the bus was on its way from Lahore to Peshawar when it skid off the road and fell into a ravine. The incident reportedly occurred after the driver lost control of the vehicle.
Rescue officials and locals reached the spot to retrieve the victims. The injured passengers were shifted to a nearby hospital for medical aid. Police have registered a case and launched investigations into the accident.
