The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted that dry weather will persist across most parts of the country on Sunday, while colder temperatures are expected in northern and hilly regions.
According to the PMD, the ongoing dry spell combined with rising air pollution is likely to worsen smog conditions in several districts of Punjab, including Lahore, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Sheikhupura, Kasur, Okara, Gujrat, Sahiwal, Multan, Rahim Yar Khan, and Bahawalpur. Citizens in these areas have been advised to limit outdoor activities, wear protective masks, and avoid unnecessary travel during early morning and evening hours when smog levels are typically higher.
In Islamabad and surrounding areas, the weather will remain dry with cool mornings and nights. Murree, Galiyat, and adjoining hilly regions are expected to stay cold but without any significant rainfall.
Across Sindh, conditions will remain mostly hot and dry, with partly cloudy skies in southeastern and coastal areas such as Karachi and Thatta. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is also likely to experience dry weather, though fog may develop in Swabi, Mardan, Nowshera, Charsadda, and Peshawar during the early morning.
Balochistan will remain dry, with colder temperatures in the northern parts of the province, while Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan are also forecast to experience cold and dry weather.
Meteorologists have cautioned that the continued absence of rainfall and increasing pollution levels may further intensify smog in central and eastern Punjab in the coming days. Authorities have urged the public to stay updated through official advisories and take necessary precautions to protect their health.
