KARACHI: DIG Security & Emergency Services Division Maqsood Ahmed presided a meeting at SSU Headquarters to review measures to be adopted to counter the current wave of coronavirus and steps to be taken for the welfare of COVID-19 infected police personnel.

The meeting was attended by Commandant Special Security Unit SSP Farrukh Ali, SSP Court Police Ch. Asad, SP SSU Erum Awan, SP Madadgar-15 Abdullah Memon, and other senior officials of the Security Division.
Moreover, DIG Maqsood Ahmed directed that Sindh Police Corona Patients Welfare Centre may be revived immediately at SSU Headquarters in the wake of the current spike of Covid-19 for the welfare of corona infected police personnel of Sindh Police. Whereas, Covid-19 testing for symptomatic personnel is also conducted on daily basis at SSU Headquarters.
As per statistics of the 2nd wave of coronavirus, 26 personnel of the Security Division have been infected with the virus, whereas, an SP embraced martyrdom during treatment, whilst, a police personal has been recovered.
DIG S&ESD further directed the officials to ensure the implementation of coronavirus SOPs and the wearing of masks amongst the personnel while performing duties.
The DIG applauded police performance during the PSL matches and recommended cash rewards and commendation certificates for police officers and police personnel who performed extraordinarily.
