Canadian authorities have recovered crystal meth from the shoes of Hina Sani, an air hostess with Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), who was apprehended under suspicion of engaging in illegal activities.
Hina remains in custody awaiting bail, with Canadian immigration officials set to present her before a local court in the near future.
The situation takes a more intricate turn with allegations suggesting that Hina might not have acted alone. She purportedly implicated two other PIA officials, Faiza Javed and Jameel, stationed at Toronto Airport, alleging their involvement in aiding her.
Canadian immigration officials reportedly interrogated Faiza and Jameel late into the night, indicating potential links to the case.
Hina Sani awaits her court appearance, still without bail. If deported, she is expected to return to Pakistan as a regular passenger, not as a crew member.
Before her arrest, Hina had allegedly received warnings from Canadian authorities.
Meanwhile, the case of Hina Sani, the detained PIA air hostess in Toronto suspected of illegal activities, has taken a new twist. Despite an initial release, recent reports confirm her re-arrest and incarceration.
A PIA spokesperson acknowledged Sani’s transfer to jail, although the specific charges against her remain undisclosed. This development, occurring over the Easter holiday weekend, postpones her next court appearance until Wednesday.
Pakistan’s Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has reportedly reached out to PIA for details on Sani’s case, hinting at a broader investigation.
Complicating matters further, reports suggest that “influential circles” are exerting pressure on PIA’s administration to reinstate Sani, despite her suspension.
Moreover, PIA has initiated an internal investigation led by the Central Disciplinary Unit, focusing on a manager and a flight scheduler potentially connected to Sani’s case.
