Dr. Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin, the spiritual leader of the Dawoodi Bohra community, concluded his 23-day visit to Pakistan on Saturday, during which he attended Ashura congregations and various community events.
Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori and Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, along with Provincial Irrigation Minister Jam Khan Shoro, bid farewell to the spiritual leader at the Old Terminal of Jinnah International Airport in Karachi.
Before departing, Dr. Saifuddin prayed for the prosperity and security of Pakistan and the world, and for the resolution of Pakistan’s debt issues.
Dr. Saifuddin arrived in Karachi on July 4 at the invitation of President Asif Ali Zardari.
During his visit, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah presented him with three copies of over 150-year-old handwritten Tafseer-e-Quran and khutbas of Bohra Jamaat leaders. The spiritual leader expressed his gratitude for the “beautiful handwritten old and rare books.”
The Sindh Chief Minister also encouraged Dr. Saifuddin to visit the city again next year. The Sindh Governor thanked the spiritual leader for his visit and expressed appreciation for the affection and respect he received during his stay in Pakistan.
