Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo, the world’s most followed person on social media with 917 million followers across various platforms, launched his YouTube channel on Wednesday. Within just a few hours, hundreds of thousands of subscribers had already signed up.
The 39-year-old, who has won the Ballon d’Or five times and currently plays for Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr, shared the news on his social media accounts: “The wait is over. My @YouTube channel is finally here! SIUUUbscribe and join me on this new journey.”
Just hours after uploading his first video, the channel, named “UR,” attracted 1.69 million subscribers. The channel will feature Ronaldo discussing his greatest passion—soccer—as well as other interests such as family, wellness, nutrition, preparation, recovery, education, and business. Ronaldo will also engage in conversations with various guests.
Earlier this year, Cristiano Ronaldo was ranked by Forbes as the highest-paid athlete for the fourth time in his career.
