The Zimbabwe Cricket Board has announced dynamic squads for the Pakistan series, which will take place from November 24 to December 5.
According to a report by ProPakistani, the series will feature three One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and three T20 Internationals (T20Is), all scheduled to be played in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe’s squad includes a mix of exciting new talent and seasoned campaigners.
The ODI squad features notable players such as Faraz Akram, Brian Bennett, Joylord Gumbie, and Trevor Gwandu, along with experienced stalwarts like Sean Williams and Sikandar Raza. Other members of the lineup include Clive Madande, Tinotenda Maposa, Tadiwanashe Marumani, Brandon Mavuta, Tashinga Musekiwa, Blessing Muzarabani, and Richard Ngarava, offering a balanced blend of batting and bowling options.
In the T20I squad, Sikandar Raza leads a strong team comprising key players such as Ryan Burl, Trevor Gwandu, and Wessly Madhevere. The squad also includes Wellington Masakadza, Brandon Mavuta, Tadiwanashe Marumani, Tashinga Musekiwa, and Blessing Muzarabani, supported by Clive Madande, Tinotenda Maposa, Dion Myers, and Richard Ngarava.
Uncapped Players
The report highlights that Zimbabwe has added three uncapped players to their ODI squad for the crucial series against Pakistan: Trevor Gwandu, Tashinga Musekiwa, and 21-year-old Tinotenda Maposa.
Although Gwandu and Musekiwa have prior experience in T20I cricket, Maposa is yet to make his international debut. The young fast bowler has shown promise in domestic cricket, having taken four wickets in just three List A matches at an economy rate of 6.29. His inclusion strengthens Zimbabwe’s pace attack and makes him a promising addition to the squad.
Despite the influx of fresh talent, Zimbabwe’s ODI squad remains anchored by experienced players. Craig Ervine, the ODI captain, leads a side that includes veteran names like Sikandar Raza, Sean Williams, and Blessing Muzarabani. These seasoned players bring stability and depth, ensuring a well-rounded team for the upcoming series.
