COVID-19 situation in Pakistan under control, no need for lockdown: Mirza

ISLAMABAD: Advising the citizens in Pakistan to stay calm amid the coronavirus threat, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Health, Zafar Mirza has said that there was no need for lock down cities due to coronavirus outbreak.
While talking to a private news channel on Monday Mirza said authorities have made inclusive arrangements across the country to thwart coronavirus outbreak.
 He said that the hospitals in different cities of the country have been equipped with coronavirus testing and prevention kits and the cases being reported from Sindh province are being examined and treated carefully.
Talking to South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) conference via live video link called upon by Indian Prime Minister Narendra he said that the issues of public health, in general, were the topic of discussion.
Zafar Mirza entailed that he had categorically demanded an end to the lockdown in Occupied Kashmir in the presence of Indian Prime Minister who has illegally annexed the valley.
As many as 13 new cases of coronavirus had been confirmed in Sindh, taking the provincial tally to 34, while the total number of coronavirus in Pakistan jumped to 53.
