RAWALPINDI: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Tuesday handed down the death sentence to three accused of kidnapping a girl for ransom in Rawalpindi.
As per details, the ATC handed each of the trio death sentences on two counts. The court, after finding them guilty of kidnapping a girl for ransom, awarded the death penalty to the culprits.
The court also ordered the confiscation of movable and immovable properties of the convicts.
It is worth mentioning here that the accused had abducted a 14-year-old girl in Rawalpindi and demanded Rs 10 million as ransom from her family. Later, the culprits released the girl after receiving Rs3 million.
On September 25, an anti-terrorism court (ATC) had handed capital punishment to two men for raping and filming a teenager in Skardu.
ATC Judge Mahmoodul Hassan had announced the verdict, sentencing Muzaffar Abbas and Tajamul Hussain to death. Besides, both had also been handed life imprisonment and are required to pay a fine of Rs1 million each.
Another culprit, Mubarak had been awarded a life term with Rs0.5 million fine. The convicts had forcibly raped the teenager multiple times and filmed the sexual assault to extort money from him.
