Police in Sialkot have arrested a husband-and-wife duo for allegedly attempting to break into a bank in the Kingra area.
According to police, the suspects, identified as Usman and Sana, attempted to enter the bank through the ATM section. They allegedly broke the glass lock and then tried to cut through an iron grill to gain access to the premises.
Their alleged attempt was abandoned after the bank’s security alarm was triggered, prompting the suspects to flee the scene before they could enter the main building.
Following the incident, Sialkot District Police Officer (DPO) Dost Muhammad directed officers to identify and apprehend those involved. Police subsequently reviewed CCTV footage and used modern investigative techniques to trace the suspects.
The couple was later arrested, while police also recovered tools allegedly used during the attempted break-in.
DPO Dost Muhammad said the suspects were traced through a combination of technology and scientific investigation methods. He added that police operations against criminal elements were continuing throughout the district.
The DPO further said that ensuring the safety of citizens and protecting their lives and property remained among the police department’s top priorities.
