Pakistan has closed its Taftan border with Iran temporarily in consideration of coronavirus deaths in the neighbouring country.
Talking to media, Balochistan Home Minister Mir Ziaullah Langove has confirmed the news regarding border and said, “Yes we have closed the border in light of coronavirus deaths in Iran.
Assistant Commissioner of Taftan Najeebullah Qambrani has said that the screening has been started of those pilgrims staying at Pakistan House.
“Preparations for setting 100-bed tents in Taftan have also started to cope and a team of doctors has been arrived from Islamabad to cope with the situation,” he added.
The government of Balochistan has also banned movement of Pakistani pilgrims into Iran by road and directed the Balochistan home department to contact other provinces in wake of coronavirus threat.
The coronavirus outbreak has claimed the six lives in Iran since Wednesday and almost 28 cases have been confirmed in the country.
