PESHAWAR: The third wave of coronavirus has entered Pakistan which has led to the implementation of micro-smart lockdown in parts of the country including the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
Lockdown has been imposed in the Hayatabad phase, Defense Colony Street, Gulbahar area of Peshawar. A statement issued by the district administration said that smart lockdown has also been implemented in Hayatabad.
The statement said that the purpose of installing micro-smart down is to stop the spread of coronavirus. In the affected areas, food items, medicine, general stores, and ovens will remain open. On the other hand, due to the increase in the number of coronavirus cases in the world, the smart lockdown has been implemented in 16 more areas of the city.

The Secretary, Department of Primary and Secondary Health Care has issued a formal letter in this regard. Under the letter, the smart lockdown has been implemented in two areas of Cantt and Data Ganj Bakhsh Town.
Under the official letter, lockdown will be implemented in Nishtar Town and four areas of Samanabad, while smart lockdown has also been implemented in Shalimartown one and two areas of Wagah Town.
The district administration of the federal capital Islamabad has implemented section 144 for the next two months. Section 144 has been enacted in view of the increase in virus cases which have been declared a global epidemic.
A notification has also been issued for the implementation of section 144 in Islamabad. Under section 144 enacted by the district administration of Islamabad, wearing a mask in public places has been made mandatory.
