LAHORE: The COVID-19 pandemic has claimed one more life in Punjab while the number of COVID-19 cases in the province reached 100,330 after the detection of 58 new cases today.
According to a spokesperson for the Punjab Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department (P&SHD), so far the total number of deaths in the province had reached 2,248.
The P&SHD confirmed that 39 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Lahore, one in Kasur, five in Rawalpindi, one in Chakwal, one in Sialkot, three in Gujrat, one in Faisalabad, five in Bahawalpur and one new case was reported in Dera Ghazi Khan district during the last 24 hours.
The Punjab Health Department conducted 1,353,115 tests for COVID-19 so far while 96,527 confirmed cases recovered altogether in the province.
The department urged masses to follow the standard operating procedures (SOPs) for their protection and cover their faces with masks. As many as 661 cases of coronavirus have been reported in Pakistan and the total number has reached 317,595.
According to the National Command and Operations Center, 8 deaths were reported in the country yesterday. The number of patients undergoing treatment for coronavirus in Pakistan has dropped to 8,335 and 302,708 have recovered.
The total number of deaths from corona in Pakistan has reached 6,552 and so far cases have been reported.
The number of coronavirus cases in Islamabad has risen to 17,122. 1,39,557 in Sindh, 38,219 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 15,480 in Balochistan, 3,893 in Gilgit-Baltistan, and 2,980 in Azad Kashmir.
The coronavirus has killed 2,248 people in Punjab and 2,541 in Sindh. The death toll in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has risen to 1,263, in Islamabad 188, in Balochistan 146, in Gilgit-Baltistan 89 and in Azad Kashmir 77.
