KARACHI: The number of coronavirus cases in Pakistan reached 1,504 on Sunday, with Punjab taking the lead from other provinces in the country.
According to the federal government’s portal covid-19-pk, the number of coronavirus cases, in Punjab, 557, Sindh 469, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 188, Balochistan 138, Gilgit-Baltistan 111, Islamabad 39 and Azad Kashmir two.
As many as 30 coronavirus patients have recovered so far in Pakistan and 12 people lost their fight against the deadly diseases.
Pakistan has reported a steady increase in coronavirus cases since confirmation of the first case in Karachi on 26. February 2020.
Meanwhile, the federal and provincial governments have taken strict steps like lockdowns to restrain the spread of virus in the country.
Presently, all provinces are under complete or partial lockdown and law enforcers police, Rangers and the Pakistan Army have been deployed across the country for useful enforcement of the lockdown.
