DASKA: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has issued a show-cause notice to the Special Assistant to Punjab Chief Minister on Information Firdous Ashiq Awan and a PML-N Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) Zeeshan Rafiq over the violation of the election code of conduct during NA-75 Daska by-elections.
ECP issued notice to the PML-N legislator for visiting the NA-75 constituency when the election commission barred all lawmakers to pay a visit during the voting process on Saturday.
The commission also served a show-cause notice to PTI leader Firdous Ashiq Awan for holding a press conference in the NA-75 constituency and announcing development projects for the area. ECP has directed her to submit a response within two days hours.
The ECP has directed the presiding officers to send a picture of Form-45 while announcing the results to the returning officer. The picture must be taken in the presence of the polling agent of the political parties. The location of the smartphone should be kept on while taking the picture.
The polling officers have been directed not to wait for the submission of the results if the network is down. They have been instructed to immediately reach the returning officer’s office and submit the polling record in time.

The Supreme Court (SC) had upheld the Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) decision to hold re-polling in the entire National Assembly constituency NA-75 in Daska.
