RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa met the tribal elders of Mir Ali and appreciated the sacrifices of the tribal people in the war on terror.
According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), General Qamar Javed Bajwa said that peace has been widely established in the tribal areas and no disturbance in this regard would be allowed.
The army chief further said complete peace will be restored with the cooperation of the local population, the military wing said.
COAS Bajwa said enemy agencies want to sabotage the success gained as a result of Operation Radd-ul-Fasad, “We have to be aware of their nefarious intentions and remain determined”.
The Army Chief paid an important visit to South and North Waziristan on Tuesday. Corps Commander Peshawar Lt. Gen. Nauman Mahmood received the Army Chief.
During the visit, the Army Chief was briefed on border management, ongoing operations for bringing stability in the area, area development and opening of border corridors.
According to ISPR, the Pakistan Army chief spent a full day in Asman Manza and Mir Ali areas of South Waziristan. General Qamar Bajwa appreciated the co-operation by officers and soldiers in establishing the writ of civil administration in the area.
Addressing the occasion, Army Chief said that Pakistan Army is committed to peace and stability in the region and it is playing a role in enhancing the capabilities of law enforcement agencies.
