LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has approved 5,700 recruitments in the police force.
The Punjab chief minister also directed 101 police stations to expedite the process of transfer of land while the legislative proposal for issuance of driving license to deaf and dumb persons was also agreed upon.
On the occasion, Usman Buzdar said that the police officers should ensure the implementation of an open-door policy. “We want to bring a good police system in Punjab and will monitor the investigation process from the Central Investigation Center,” he said.
He said that co-operation between prosecution and investigation should be improved while new vehicles would be given to police stations instead of squads and security.
Usman Buzdar said that 150 new vehicles have reached the police stations as per the requirements. Besides, the model policing system will be introduced in other districts including Rawalpindi, Mianwali, and Dera Ghazi Khan.

On the occasion, Punjab Law Minister Raja Basharat said that incentives were being given to the police which was unprecedented in the past.
Punjab Information Minister Firdous Ashiq Awan said that people want a change from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the image of police among the people will be improved.
IG Punjab Police Inam Ghani said that what has been done for the police in a short span of time is unprecedented in the past while becoming a South Punjab Secretariat is improving the performance of the police.
