Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has unveiled a groundbreaking initiative, launching a Rs 100 billion scholarship program, the distribution of 100,000 e-bikes to students, and offering interest-free loans of up to Rs 3 million to young entrepreneurs.
In her announcement, she outlined plans to introduce market-driven training programs, establish e-bike charging stations, and offer paid internships across sectors such as agriculture, environment, and more.
Speaking at BZU Multan, Maryam Nawaz emphasized her government’s commitment to ensuring no talented student is deprived of education due to financial limitations.
She revealed that 20,000 new scholarships would be awarded annually, alongside a promise to cover tuition fees for deserving students. The scholarship program, open to both male and female students, is strictly merit-based, with no political bias involved.
Moreover, the Chief Minister announced the provision of buses to ease transportation for female students and highlighted that 60% of the scholarships would be allocated to girls. She also shared plans to distribute laptops to students, with the first batch already distributed, and to introduce international scholarships to support higher education abroad.
