China lauds PM Imran’s comments on bilateral relations

ISLAMABAD: China has appreciated the warm remarks made by Prime Minister Imran Khan on relations between China and Pakistan during an interview with Al Jazeera television.

In a statement posted on its Twitter handle, the Chinese Embassy also lauded the contribution of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Authority in advancing the mega project in a fully committed way.

The embassy reiterated to work with the Pakistan government in earnest under the guidance of the two leaderships for a shared future.

The Embassy applauds warm remarks by PM Imran Khan on China-Pak relations. The Embassy also appreciates contribution of CPEC Authority in advancing CPEC in a fully committed way. We will work with Pak Gov in earnest under guidance of the two leadership for a shared future.

The statement from the Chinese Embassy came after PM Imran in an interview with Al Jazeera television said that Pakistan’s future is now linked to China, which is progressing at a faster pace than any other country in the world.

He rejected any renegotiation with China over amending the terms of CPEC, saying that the relationship with China is better than ever before.

PM also mentioned, “We in all probability have the very best relationship with US proper now as in contrast to some years in the past, as a result of in Afghanistan, we’re ‘companions with peace’.”
