ChatGPT users across the globe, including in Pakistan, reported problems with the AI chatbot on Wednesday afternoon as the service suffered a major global outage.
According to monitoring platform Downdetector, complaints began in the afternoon (Pakistan time), with over a thousand users worldwide flagging the issue.
The disruption lasted about 52 minutes, leaving many unable to get responses from the chatbot.
The platform noted that 95 per cent of users reported problems with ChatGPT’s web version, while five per cent faced glitches on the app.OpenAI’s official status page confirmed the disruption, stating: “ChatGPT not displaying responses. We are investigating the root cause.”
Independent trackers like StatusGator also logged the outage, recording a total downtime of nearly 1 hour and 9 minutes starting at 1:11 pm Pakistan time.
The problem was widely reported across the UK, with cities like London and Manchester leading in complaints.
Users across the world also took to social media, sharing screenshots of error messages and login failures.
