Field Marshal Asim Muunir has landed in Iran ahead of high-level talks with the Tehran leadership, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed.
Field Marshal Asim Munir and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi are also part of the delegation.
Earlier, Iranian sources told Al Jazeera that Pakistan’s army chief, Field Marshal Asim Munir, has landed in Iran as part of a delegation to hold high-level talks on the resumption of talks between Iran and the US.
Earlier, Iran confirmed that diplomatic communication channels with Pakistan and other stakeholders remain active following recent ceasefire developments and talks held in Islamabad.Pakistan travel guide
According to Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei, messages are being exchanged continuously through Pakistani mediation as efforts intensify to sustain the truce and move toward a more comprehensive peace agreement.
Tehran has also indicated that broader regional diplomatic engagement is underway, including indirect communication with the United States, as part of ongoing efforts to de-escalate tensions and maintain stability.
According to Baghaei, Iran continues to receive messages through Pakistani intermediaries, and Tehran’s position on the matter remains clear.
He also revealed that there is a strong possibility of a Pakistani delegation visiting Iran to advance the negotiation process, which is expected to focus on achieving a comprehensive ceasefire.
