CDA initiates inquiry over illegal property transfers

ISLAMABAD: An inquiry has been initiated after it revealed the Estate Wing of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) illegally transferred properties without paying outstanding government duties.

According to further details, eight properties in Sector F-11 were illegally transferred. Their record has been confiscated by the Estate Wing member and an inquiry has been ordered after it was revealed there was massive embezzlement in the property transfers.

There were one million rupees outstanding dues for plots no. 227-A and 227-S located in Sector F11/3, and a further million rupees were accrued fo for plot no. 88 located in Sector F8/2.

The properties were transferred by the Estate Wing but sources informed that the director and deputy director of Estate -1 West section benefitted themselves and caused a loss to the national exchequer.

On the other hand, Member Estate Wing Naveed Elahi has instructed deputy director Rizwan Rizvi to submit the record of the properties and has initiated an inquiry. After receiving numerous complaints, the concerned deputy director has been suspended the director has been transferred.
