KARACHI: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has decided to seek the services of a consultant for two projects involving the construction and cleanliness of drains in the city.
The decision was made during a meeting at CDA headquarters to set up drainage systems for parking plazas and launch a rainwater accumulation project.
The meeting also decided to set up the ‘Urban Infrastructure Directorate’ to expedite communication between the Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad and other organisations.
There is an increasing need for parking spaces in the federal capital. It is expected that after the hiring of a consultant, the CDA will have information about parking and related costs within three months.
The CDA has also decided to hire a consultant for a rainwater accumulation project which will not only increase the groundwater level but can also be store water to be used for horticulture.
