Captain Safdar’s arrest: Maulana Fazlur Rehman meets Maryam Nawaz

KARACHI: Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) President Maulana Fazlur Rehman has called on Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz.

During the meeting, the arrest of Capt. (retd) Safdar was discussed. It may be recalled that this morning PML-N leader Captain (retd) Safdar was arrested by the police.

Captain (retd) Safdar was arrested from a private hotel room in Karachi. Captain Safdar was shifted to Aziz Bhatti police station after being arrested in the case of violation of Mazar-e-Quaid, the tomb of Quaid-e-Azam.

Maryam Nawaz said that the police broke down the door of the room and arrested Captain (R) Safdar while I was staying in a hotel in Karachi.

This morning, a case of violation of Mazar-e-Quaid was registered against PML-N leader Capt (retd) Muhammad Safdar. The case was registered at Brigade Police Station on the complaint of Shehri Waqas.

The claim was filed after protests by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers outside the police station, in which Maryam Nawaz, Captain (retd) Muhammad Safdar, and 200 others were named.
