QUETTA: Nineteen-year-old Naheed Ahmed Zehri became Balochistan’s first cadet to receive the prestigious “Sword of Honour” for his success at the Pakistan Naval Academy (PNA).
At the 112th Midshipmen and 21st Short Service Commission (SSC) course commission parade at the PNA on 28 December 2019, popularly known as PNS Rahbar, Zehri from Khuzdar won the prestigious award for his overall excellent performance.

Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhary said, “Zehri has set a new record by becoming the province’s first-person to take the naval academy’s “Sword of Honour.”
The federal minister praised the young officer for taking laurels to the province. The president of Pakistan was the chief guest of the ceremony.

Besides Zehri, at the ceremony located at Manora Island, fifty-three foreign and seven female cadets passed out. The Pakistan Naval Academy is home to the initial training of Pakistan Navy officers.

Rear-Admiral of Pakistan Navy M Arshid Javed in a tweet said, “112th Midshipmen & 21st SSC Course Commissioning Parade held at Pakistan Naval Academy PNS RAHBAR. Chief Guest, Honorable President Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Dr Arif Alvi gave away prizes to the position holders.”
