Four men were found dead with bullet wounds inside an ambulance in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Bannu district on Friday, police said.
The ambulance was discovered along the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Circular Road, where initial investigations suggested that unidentified attackers opened fire on the vehicle, killing the victims.
Police officials said the attack was believed to have taken place on Thursday night. After receiving information, officers reached the scene, secured the area, and started gathering evidence.
The bodies, identified as middle-aged men, were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital for medico-legal procedures.
A case has been registered against unidentified suspects, and police have launched an investigation to determine the motive behind the killings.
Bannu has witnessed a rise in security incidents in recent months, with civilians and security personnel frequently targeted amid increasing militant activity in the region.
Recent attacks in the district have included assaults on police officials and local community representatives, leading authorities to conduct operations aimed at disrupting militant networks.
