Bukhari lauds charitable efforts of Pakistani expats in UAE
ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Overseas Pakistanis Sayed Zulfikar Bukhari has expressed his gratitude to the generous Pakistani diaspora for taking care of their compatriots in the United Arab Emirates amid coronavirus.
The special assistant met with Pakistani community members and consulate staff in UAE who rendered exceptional services for Overseas Pakistanis during COVID-19 pandemic.
Bukhari also lauded the community for their charitable work for the Pakistani diaspora stranded in the UAE due to the contagion.
“Our UAE diaspora has given us amazing support, a Big Thankyou to all Pakistanis who went far & beyond to help out the most vulnerable during Covid-19,” he said in a tweet after the meeting.
He said that the government has repatriated approximately 75,000 Pakistan from the UAE in 300 flights. He said the diaspora has given 1,276 free tickets, shelter to 757 destitute and 19,000 rations have been distributed by the expatriate community.
