ISLAMABAD: The federal government has earmarked billions of rupees for major infrastructure, energy, education and public welfare projects under the Budget 2026-27, according to official budget documents.
The Budget 2026-27 allocates Rs100 billion for the N-25 Quetta Highway project, Rs30 billion for the Sukkur-Hyderabad Motorway and Rs25 billion for the ML-1 railway project.
For Sindh, Rs25 billion has been allocated for the Sindh Coastal Highway, while the Mehran Highway will receive Rs21 billion. An additional Rs10 billion has been set aside for the Karachi Bulk Water Supply project.
In the energy sector, Rs26 billion has been allocated for the Mohmand Dam Hydropower Project and Rs21 billion for the Dasu Hydropower Project.
The Budget 2026-27 also includes Rs22 billion for the construction of Daanish Schools across the country, reflecting the government’s focus on expanding educational infrastructure.
Meanwhile, Rs3 billion has been allocated for the Prime Minister’s National Health Programme to support healthcare services and improve access to medical facilities for citizens.
