Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea Film Festival opened its fifth edition on December 4 with British director Rowan Athale’s biopic Giant starring Amir El-Masry as boxing champion Prince Naseem Hamed.
Aishwarya Rai, Dakota Johnson, Kirsten Dunst, Queen Latifah, Jessica Alba, Vin Diesel and Ana de Armas stole the spotlight on the red carpet of the festival, scheduled to run from Dec 4-13 in the historic district of Al‑Balad in Jeddah.
The festival’s jury also attended the opening ceremony, featuring Sean Baker, Lebanese director Nadine Labaki, British Oscar winner Riz Ahmed, and actresses Olga Kurylenko and Naomie Harris.

On Thursday night, the red carpet welcomed an array of global stars, including Oscar winner Adrien Brody; US actresses Queen Latifah, Kirsten Dunst, Jessica Alba, and Uma Thurman; Cuban-Spanish star Ana de Armas; British actor Daniel Kaluuya; and singer Rita Ora.
