The final season of Top Boy is finally here. Who’s going to come out on top? It’s a question that has permeated the lives of the characters since the show’s Channel 4 beginnings.
The fifth season of the Netflix thriller, which follows two legendary drug traffickers named Sully (Kane Robinson) and Dushane (Ashley Walters) as they compete for money and power on the seedy streets of London, ended with a bang. How does season five finish, though?
As the series reached its conclusion, whether it would be suave pragmatist Dushane (Ashley Walters) or the unpredictable barrel of neuroses Sully (Kane Robinson) was the question on all long-term fan’s minds. Ultimately, Top Boy left its best twist for last.
With so many unanswered issues following Series 4, the newest season did not disappoint, including greater tension, brawls, and drama. Who ultimately emerges as Summerhouse Estate’s true top boy? Here is a breakdown of Top Boy season five’s conclusion.

A riot breaks out
After a little girl is struck and killed by a police car that was pursuing Dushane, who is sought for the murder of Jeffrey, a riot breaks out on the Summerhouse Estate. Dushane is hiding out at his late mother’s apartment at the beginning of episode six when Latif, a man sent by Wilson, shows up and offers to help Dushane leave the country.
Shelly (Little Simz) meets Dushane at his mum’s flat later to give him his fake passport and money so he can flee the country, and they discuss their relationship with them saying that they love each other but her telling him that he will always prioritise money and power over her.
Sully realizes Jaq stole his drugs
Sully has discovered that Jaq (Jasmine Jobson), not Kieron (Joshua Blissett), stole his drugs, and he informs Kieron of this information. Kieron then acts as though he was unaware. Jaq informs her girlfriend Becks (Adwoa Aboah) about returning the narcotics to Sully when he asked Kieron to meet up, and Becks begs her to stop distributing drugs and committing crimes.
Sully tells Kieron he shouldn’t have lied to him when they cross paths, and Kieron apologizes. However, Sully’s right-hand man Junior (Michael Maris) takes Kieron out of the car and into a van. The violence is still going on at the Estate in the meantime, and when Jaq goes to meet Sully to return the narcotics, Dushane jumps her and steals the bags to give to Latif so he can use them to pay for his flight out of the country.

Jaq tells Sully, who is furious and tells her she won’t be getting a pass and neither did Kieron, to which Jaq heads to Kieron’s house to find him but realises that Kieron was killed by the order of Sully, who now wants to find and kill Dushane. Jaq is able to return home to Becks, with Sully preoccupied with finding Dushane.
Sully kills Dushane
A shootout breaks out between Dushane, Latif’s men, Sully, and Junior, resulting in the death of a young drug dealer and Junior. Dushane attempts to flee the Estate while Latif plans his escape, but he is discovered and pursued by Sully.
They dispute about the stolen narcotics, money, and power as Dushane is bleeding out after Sully shoots him. Sully maintains that he would have given Dushane the money to go if he had asked. Then, Sully discovers that Dushane has passed away (I cannot believe this!).
What happens to Stefan?
In the closing scene of season five, Stefan (Araloyin Oshunremi) pursues Sully as he returns from taking his daughter to school with a gun in hand. Sully, who claims Stefan shouldn’t have had to witness him shoot and kill Jamie (Michael Ward), is the target of his finger. However, Stefan tells Sully that he isn’t worth it and puts the gun down before leaving.
Sully is killed
But, in a plot twist, when Sully arrives back to his car, he is shot and killed by a mysterious figure. Was it Stefan? We need answers, Netflix!
Who dies at the end?
The last episode has a staggering number of murders, making it difficult to keep count. Thus, at the conclusion of season five:
On Sully’s orders, Junior kills Kieron.
In a shootout with Latif’s men, Junior dies.
Sully ends up killing Dushane.
Sully is killed by an unidentified person, maybe Stefan
