KARACHI: Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori has clarified that the free bike scheme is only for Karachi residents who have fallen victim to motorcycle snatching or theft during December.

The governor further clarified that the scheme did not have the provision of free mobile phones to those whose cell phones were snatched.

Earlier it was reported that the governor had announced free motorbikes and cellphones as gifts for those who have fallen victim to street crimes in Karachi.

It was said in the report that Governor Tessori disclosed that, in the past year alone, over 1,700 cases of stolen vehicles were reported in Karachi, underscoring the pressing need for measures to support the victims of such crimes.

To avail of the initiative, individuals are required to present their original Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs) and First Information Reports (FIRs) at the Governor’s House.

Governor Tessori emphasized shared responsibility and stated his opinion that everyone must participate to resolve national concerns. He gave the assurance that real attempts are being made to address the concerns of the people, despite the difficulties they encounter.

Furthermore, Tessori announced a groundbreaking health insurance scheme, allowing citizens access to free medical treatment up to Rs500,000 for themselves and their families.

Kamran Tessori declared that during his fifteen months in government, he has not made any demands on anyone.

Highlighting his accomplishments, the governor of Sindh stated that 300,000 people enjoyed their iftar at the governor’s mansion and that 250,000 people received rations.
