Bangladesh on Tuesday defeated Pakistan by 104 runs in the first Test match after a struggling run chase of 268 runs in Mirpur.
Pakistan’s batting collapsed in the second innings as the team was bowled out for 163 runs. The innings got off to a poor start with the first wicket falling at just 3 runs. The second setback came when Azaan Awais was dismissed for 15.
Shan Masood was out for 2, while Abdul Faseeh scored 66. Other contributions included Salman Agha (26), Saud Shakeel (15), Hasan Khan (12), Hasan Ali (1), and Nauman Ali (4).
Bangladesh had declared their second innings at 240 for 9 on the fifth day.
Captain Najmul Hossain Shanto led the way with 87 runs, while Mominul Haque added 56.
For Pakistan, Hasan Ali and Nauman Ali took three wickets each, Shaheen Afridi claimed two, and Mohammad Abbas took one. Nauman Ali also reached a milestone of 100 Test wickets during the match.
Earlier, Pakistan won the toss and opted to field first. Bangladesh scored 413 runs in their first innings, while Pakistan replied with 386 runs.
