BALOCHISTAN: Balochistan Minister for Environment, Livestock and Dairy Development, Mitha Khan Kakar has said the government has decided to impose a complete ban on plastic bags.
The minister said the provincial environment department with the partnership of all departments had made all steps for a massive three-tier campaign on plastic bags ban.
He said the department would start awareness drive across Balochistan and would distribute environment-friendly alternate bags among the people to control the menace of environmental pollution through plastic bags.
All authorities would engage people to people contact to impart them awareness on the danger of plastic bags and reason for its ban, he said.
The minister said the provincial government would force a ban on plastic bags usage in the Quetta city in the first phase of the initiative and would be expanding the ban to the other districts.
