In a significant move to empower women in Balochistan, the provincial government has announced plans to distribute “Pink Scooties” to female students and professional women across the region. This initiative, aimed at enhancing mobility and independence for women, was revealed on Wednesday.
Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti formally launched the initiative by presenting two pink scooties—one to Tahira Arif, a student from FG Girls Degree College, and another to a female police officer. Bugti emphasized that the distribution of these scooties would extend to all female students in secondary schools and colleges across Balochistan.
“The Balochistan government is committed to empowering our women and girls,” said Chief Minister Bugti. “This initiative will not only provide better mobility but also encourage more girls to pursue their education and careers.”
The “Pink Scootie” program, which is set to be rolled out soon, will be implemented after the necessary approvals are secured. Additionally, Bugti highlighted the growing participation of women in administrative roles within the province, noting that five women deputy commissioners are currently serving in various districts of Balochistan with great effectiveness.
This initiative is part of broader efforts by the provincial government to promote gender equality and ensure greater opportunities for women in Balochistan.
