PESHAWAR: The Government has announced to launch the Awam Express, a state-of-the-art train equipped with modern facilities, a premium train service designed to revolutionize rail travel just before the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha festivities.
According to the Railways Minister, Hanif Abbasi, this highly anticipated train will be formally inaugurated on May 24, ensuring that passengers can enjoy its modern amenities well before the holiday rush begins.
Talking to media, Hanif Abbasi emphasized that the Awam Express is not just another train; it represents a significant leap forward in the nation’s railway infrastructure. Fully upgraded with state-of-the-art facilities, the service is engineered to provide a fast, comfortable, and high-quality travel experience.
One of its standout features is the ability to reach Karachi in a remarkably short duration, addressing the long-standing demand for efficient connectivity between major cities.
“This initiative reflects our core vision: to provide quality, safe, and comfortable travel facilities to every citizen,” stated Minister Abbasi.
He highlighted that the government is taking practical, concrete steps to modernize the railway system, moving away from outdated models to a future defined by efficiency and passenger satisfaction. With improvement and passenger convenience established as the top priorities for Pakistan Railways, the launch of the Awam Express marks the beginning of a broader strategy to run prime, modern trains from every major city across the country.
