Avengers director Joe Russo, who recently attended International Film Festival in Scotland, praised Indian cinema and spoke about the country being one of the major markets for cinema.
Joe Russo showered praise on SS Rajamouli’s RRR and revealed his intention of promoting Indian cinema globally. Â
While praising RRR, Joe Russo said that Bollywood, for instance, is one of the more significant film businesses in the world but it has extremely minimal exposure outside of India. “Thank God for movies like RRR, using a level of technical genius, visual effects, and mythological storytelling to appeal to a much wider audience.”
He added, “We learn about other cultures from movies like that. So, I guess, our goal would be empowerment. We want to support other markets as much as possible so their stories can get through in a broader way.”
Joe Russo, along with his brother Anthony Russo, has directed several Hollywood films, including Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, and the recently released, The Gray Man. His upcoming series is titled Citadel and stars Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden in the lead roles. On other hand, movie ‘RRR’ stars Ram Charan and Jt NTR in lead roles and won Best Original Song for Naatu Naatu at Oscars this year.Â
